Hedy Lamarr was an inventor who filed dozens of patents for inventions, most notably one for a secret communications system and frequency hopping. It wasn’t implemented by the United States military until the 1960’s. Hedy wasn’t recognized for her intellect until the nature of her work was declassified in the freedom of information act in the 1990’s.

Her invention was the foundation for what would later become WiFi.
